Learning Power Award Recipients
Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Prep L | Anika | For being a motivated learner who is always focused and ready to take on tricky learning tasks with a positive attitude! Anika always does her best and a little bit more in her own learning, but also understands that mistakes help us to grow as learners! Well done Anika! |
Prep N | Casper | For being a collaborative and resilient learner who has slipped back into our Prep community effectively after his time away. Casper is following the Ways of Working, and using listening skills so that he is prepared for all learning tasks. Well done Casper, keep up your great effort. |
1/2C | Bless | For being a reflective learner during Writing this week. Bless reread her colour poem and edited to make improvements including adding adjectives and the correct punctuation. Bless is also now using upper and lowercase letters correctly. Well done Bless! |
1/2S | Frankie | For being a motivated learner who was an active participant during shared learning sessions this week. Frankie confidently shared her thinking during Mathematics, using different information to make accurate estimations of people's heights- even principal Dan! Frankie, the enthusiasm and positivity you show towards your learning is infectious to those around you. Thank you for making our classroom a great place to learn. |
1/2JA | River | For having a great start to the term. River has been trying hard to manage distractions and for giving all learning tasks a go. Keep up the fabulous work River!! |
3/4SL | Darlene | For being a collaborative learner who showed leadership in her group when she suggested using voting as a strategy to decide on an idea. She always works well with others and listens to everyone’s ideas. Keep up the great learning, Darlene. |
3/4O | Arihaan | For being a motivated learner who takes responsibility for his learning. Arihaan is very eager to extend his learning which is evident in the top-quality work he produces. Your effort does not go unnoticed. Keep up the great work, Arihaan! |
3/4S | Isaac | For being a curious learner who asks interesting questions. When Isaac shares his perspective with the class - we all learn from him! Well Done Isaac! |
5/6AN | Aryan | For being a motivated learner who is always ready for learning and discussion. Aryan, your positive growth mindset towards learning has not been missed in the classroom. You are always willing to challenge yourself and give a little bit more as well as willing to help your peers. Well done, your hard work is a reflection of your growth thus far. |
5/6K | Aewin | For being a motivated and collaborative learner this week. Aewin you have shown a really positive attitude towards learning this week. Starting learning tasks quickly, challenging yourself to take your learning to the next level and collaborating with classmates when you have found yourself challenged! Keep up this fantastic attitude to learning. |
5/6S | Marley | For being a reflective learner, and taking more time to consider how to approach tasks and solve problems. Marley is thinking more deeply about her learning and is able to evaluate what worked well and how she can make further improvements. She is always keen to do her best and a little bit more, which is a credit to her! Well done Marley!

Jane (Music) | Noah 5/6S | For being a motivated learner on the ukulele. Noah has demonstrated initiative by studying uke tutorials at home and practising regularly. He is extending himself by learning complicated songs he enjoys. His progress is amazing! Way to go Noah! |
Nick (PE) | Nikolaos 5/6AN | For being a collaborative member of our Softball team, all season you played with confidence and grew from week to week. You were an encouraging teammate and did a fantastic job pitching. Keep up the good work Niko. |
