The University High School Performing Arts Showcase

On the evening of Thursday May 11th, students at University High School presented a forward-thinking and diverse program of short works at The University High School Performing Arts Showcase (previously known as Junior Performing Arts Night). Featuring students in Year 9 & 10 Drama, Dance & Music classes, students performed pieces that they had developed and rehearsed throughout the term to a sold-out audience.

The showcase was also live-streamed to the UHS community on Youtube with AUSLAN interpretations. On the day of the performance, there was a real buzz in the air as students were excited to attend dress-rehearsals as well as having access to their own exclusive “green” room where they could unwind and relax moments before going on stage.

Congratulations to all students who were involved in the showcase, including the UHS student crew who carefully stage-managed the showcase and ensured it ran smoothly. Also, a big thank you to Kate O’Callaghan, Melissa Goodger, Cameron McCormick, Ashleigh Robertson, Maddie Brown, Ed Boyle who were involved in producing the event as well as Angela Brain who provided additional supervision duties. Stay tuned for another University High School Performing Arts Showcase in Semester 2!
