Immunology Excursion at GTAC

On Thursday, 27 April, 15 students in Years 10 and 11, who were selected based on the quality of their applications, visited GTAC to attend a special program entitled 'The Guardians Within: How the Body Fights Back'.
The program was a collaboration between GTAC and the Australian and New Zealand Society for Immunology (ASI) to celebrate the International Day of Immunology. It consisted of a presentation on innate and adaptive immunity by an eminent immunologist, laboratory workshops, and a careers session with local researchers.
The students had plenty of fun learning about immunology using cutting-edge scientific equipment such as advanced microscopes, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits and microtiter plates.
