Year 12 Camp:

During the last week of term one, the year 12’s were at The Summit camp site in Trafalgar for the year 12 camp. It was wonderful seeing the students come together and support one another as they pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones to complete different activities. Students participated in a range of activities including the giant swing, rock wall, laser skirmish, leap of faith, bush challenge as well as balancing across the sky bridge. During the camp, students also had an English based or vocational major session, focusing on key aspects for their course. Students also all completed the Monster Course. The Monster Course is all about resilience and seeing what you are all truly capable of. Each team improved by 5 minutes or more on their second lap. After showering off all the mud from the monster course, students received their year 9 letters they wrote to themselves to read that night.

Before leaving the camp, each activity group selected a values winner. This was the member of their team they felt represented the 5 key values of the summit. These values winners got to for a drive in the army tank, before we all headed on the buses back to school. The summit team have put together a blog post that highlights each of the values winners and the times for each of the teams on the Monster Course https://www.thesummit.net.au/single-post/parkdale-secondary-college-year-12-camp-blog

We are proud of how our students challenged themselves, and more importantly how they worked together and supported one another with the activities.

Year 12 Formal:

On Friday 5th May, our Year 12s also celebrated their year 12 formal. Students were all dressed to impress and couldn’t wait to get on the dance floor. The students had a wonderful night celebrating this event, as one of the their year 12 milestones.
