Wellbeing

Mr Jake Phin and the Wellbeing Team

It may already be Week 5 of term, but there have been some exciting things happening in Wellbeing to start Term 2.

Firstly, we have officially welcomed Katie Boast to our team this term, to continue the great work she has been doing supporting students whilst completing a placement with us. Our team has greatly appreciated the effort, enthusiasm and energy Katie has brought to our college wellbeing team and are looking forward to having her stay with us in a part time role.

The college will also be hosting wellbeing staff from across other schools in local council areas this August to increase collaboration and support amongst our community, which is part of our role in supporting the Bayside, Kingston and Glen Eira Wellbeing Network. We will also be hosting speakers on the day to support the work we are doing in the area of emotional regulation and healthy masculinties.

Lastly, we are very excited to be in the process of arranging a special guest speaker for parents and carers later this Term or in early Term 3. I don't want to say too much as yet, but keep an eye out on Compass or in the next newsletter for further information! Separate to this, we will also be welcoming back Brett Lee to speak on Cyber Safety later in the year for parents/carers and students.

Sincerely,

Jake and the Wellbeing Team

Laptops for Students

Our sincere thanks go to “This Is IT”.  This not for profit group was founded by local business people and is focused on providing IT equipment to students where the cost of such devices may be a barrier to their access to this important learning tool. In our case the devices have been donated by the City of Kingston.

We have been fortunate to be provided with twenty devices to distribute to our student’s.  These will be allocated to students through the recommendation of our student wellbeing and teaching staff.

We sincerely thank “This Is It” for their support of our students.
