High Abilities Masterclass

On May 12th, some year 8 students participated in a High Ability Masterclass called BioEyes+ run by Monash University. In the workshop students worked on an experiment with Zebrafish to learn how genetic traits are inherited over generations. Students recorded their findings in a journal, collected data and ultimately came to a conclusion on the likely genotypes of the adult fish that produced the larvae students had been working with. Students had a great time working with the Zebrafish, treating them with respect as they thoroughly recorded their observations, asked curious questions and had fun discovering more about the world we live in.
