College Sport

Nikki Stuart

Term 2 Sport kicks off this Friday, with a fantastic 20 teams competing in rosters for hockey, netball, badminton and water polo. Thank you to parents, siblings and fellow students that have volunteered their time to help Coach, Manage and Umpire the many teams we have representing the College this term.

Coaches/Supervisors still urgently needed

Unfortunately, teams can’t participate without volunteers. This term we have some sports team ready to compete, but without a coach or supervisor. If you know someone that loves sport and would be willing to assist with a netball or badminton team, we would love to hear from you. Field Day

Our beloved Field Day returned to the University of Tasmania this year, as a full College event. There were some nervous staff the day before and on the morning of the event, as the weather forecast was looking suspect. Thankfully we pushed ahead, as the day stayed dry and without wind and some occasional sun, it turned out to be a perfect day.

The day started with the much-loved House Relay, where a runner from each year group in each house participates. There was much excitement and cheering as Lourdes and Loreto were neck and neck until Bailey Van den Broek broke clear in the final straight to give Lourdes victory.

The cross country races then proceeded through the day from Kinder to Year 10, and students participated in year group activities on the top and bottom ovals on either side of their races.

Thanks to staff and spectators who helped contribute to a great day. Congratulations to all the students for trying their best and for their enthusiasm and support of school mates.

The final results from the day and top 3 place getters in each year group were and follows:
