Principals' Update
And That’s a Wrap!
What an incredibly busy and productive Term 1 we have had!
2023 has seen the return of our annual fete after a 3 year hiatus (an extremely successful school fete). Term 1 has traditionally been a fast paced term due to the fete, however, this year we’ve all had to refamiliarise ourselves with the logistics and preparation processes for the fete. We have also seen the addition of NAPLAN to Term 1 and the Year 1 mandatory English Online Interview assessments. These two additions to this term’s calendar have contributed to the busyness of the term and the workload of our teachers.
We would like to thank all of our students, staff and parents/carers for their contributions to the following events this term:
- Meet and Greet Afternoon - Monday 30 January
- Parent Information Online Sessions - Tuesday 14 February
- Swimming Carnival Years 3 to 6 - Wednesday 15 February
- Class Welcome Gatherings at Curtain Square - allocated dates
- District Swimming - Thursday 23 February
- Year 5/6 Upstander Incursion - Thursday 9 March
- Division Swimming - Tuesday 14 March
- 3 Way Conferences - Tuesday 21 March
- NAPLAN Window - Wednesday 15 March - Monday 27 March
- The Great Lee Street Fete - Sunday 26 March
- Year 1/2 Urban Upcycle Incursion - Thursday 30 March
- Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP) - allocated dates
Key Dates for Term 2
Term 2 is a short term of only 9 weeks. We anticipate that Term 2 will be as busy and hectic as Term 1 as we work towards prioritising our teaching and learning and student learning growth.
Monday 24 April - First Day Back at School
Tuesday 25 April ANZAC Day (no school)
Monday 1 May - Curriculum Day (student free day)
Sunday 14 May - Mother’s Day
Monday 12 June - King’s Birthday (public holiday)
Thursday 22 June - Semester 1 Reports Published on Compass
Friday 23 June - Last day of Term 2 (2:30pm finish)
Reminder - No Holiday Program at CNPS over the Easter Holidays
Unfortunately Big Childcare has advised that they will not be conducting a Holiday Program at our school over this term break. School Council is currently conducting an expression of interest tender process for a new Outside School Hours Care provider. Hopefully we will have a new provider in place early next term with an ongoing holiday program that does not get cancelled. We will continue to keep families informed of the progress of this process.
We wish everyone a safe and happy break and look forward to seeing everyone next term.
