Student Absences

To avoid receiving this SMS notification, our preferred communication method from parents/guardians of advising/explaining of any student absences is by emailing by 9.00am:

Mouthguards and School Sport

Parents and students are advised that Frankston High School recommends that students wear mouth guards for all contact sport at school, particularly when students are playing school and interschool sport in the following: football, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, martial arts, netball, basketball and baseball.

A mouth guard is an easy and cost effective way to reduce the risk of injury when playing sport. The Australian Dental Association has set out five good reasons why mouth guards should be worn when playing sport:

  • Cushions teeth against impact
  • Protects against jaw joint injuries
  • Protects against soft tissue injuries
  • Helps prevent neck and jaw injuries
  • May help reduce a concussion

It is important to remind parents that the Department of Education and Training does NOT provide personal accident insurance or ambulance cover for students. Student accident insurance may be taken out privately by parents for their own children.

Host Families Needed!

We are asking Frankston High School families to consider hosting a 2019 Letsibogo Girls High School student for a period of four weeks. Our Soweto students have arrived and are completing Year 11 at Frankston High School.

Host families are needed

from early June

Daily needs such as clothing, toiletries, pre-pay mobile phone, public transport costs plus a $30 per week allowance are provided by the school.  However, we would be relying on the generosity of host families to provide accommodation and food.

Receipts from public transport, phone cards for overseas calls (available from a newsagency) mobile phone cards, etc. will be reimbursed from the Finance Office on the 7-10 Campus.

Year 10 Work Experience

24 - 28 June

Work Experience Week

24 – 28 June 2019

A reminder that all Work Experience Arrangement and Work Experience Travel Arrangement forms were due back on FRIDAY 8 MARCH and if your child still has not handed their forms in they are now very overdue.  Work Experience is a compulsory component of the Year 10 curriculum.

It is very important now that, if your child hasn’t returned their forms or they are having trouble finding a position, they speak with me urgently.  Students can find me in the JRC from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Woolworths Earn & Earn

1 May - 25 June

Woolworths has just launched Earn & Learn, and we have once again joined.  For those parents who aren't aware of the program, if you shop at Woolworths between 1 May and 25 June you can earn stickers.  Our school will be collecting these stickers which we will be able to swap for new school equipment; things like robotics, technology supplies, teaching aids, and more.

For any parents who shop at Woolworths, please collect those stickers and drop them in to one of our collection boxes, which are located in the reception foyer of both the 7-10 and Senior Campuses and also the Woolworths stores at Baxter and in Bayside.

If you let your family, friends, neighbours and colleagues know we are collecting these stickers, they may also be happy to collect for our school too!

Thanks for helping out!
