Head of Students News

Mr Peter Serone

2023 Senior Photo

The Year 12 Class of 2023 photo will be taken this Friday 21 April. All students must arrive at the Champagnat Centre by 7:45 am.

Students must ensure they are wearing full winter uniform including a blazer and that haircuts and personal grooming standards meet the College expectations. Students who don’t meet these expectations may be excluded from the photo.

For students who have ordered trims for their blazers, the blazers are available for collection from the Tower Function Room from 8:00 am Tuesday 18 April.

Details on how to order the Class of 2023 photo directly from Beyond School Photos will follow.

Anzac Day March

Anzac Day falls on Tuesday 25 April (Week 2, Term 2). The traditional march will take place with all students invited to attend. The March starts at 7:30 am from Betheden Terrace, Ashgrove and proceeds outbound on Waterworks Road to Ashgrove Memorial Park.

We will gather behind the St Finbarr’s Catholic Church at 7:15 am. The ceremony commences at 7:45 am and runs for approximately 45 minutes.

I'd like to remind students that they are to wear their full winter uniform ensuring it is clean and presentable, including formal hat. Blazers are required for students in Years 5, 11, and 12.

Winter Uniform

Winter uniform is worn in Terms 2 and 3.

Years 5-10

Long sleeve grey shirt, tie, black belt, grey shorts with long College grey socks; or trousers with dark grey, black or College bumblebee socks.

Years 11 and 12

Blazers

Years 5, 11, and 12 are required to wear blazers. Due to the warm weather at the beginning of term, students are not required to wear blazers for Week 1 except if attending formal occasions (i.e. year 12 photo on Friday).

Responsible Thinking Classroom – Parent Notification

As part of the College’s student management, teachers will make use of the Responsible Thinking Process including the Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC) when students are removed from class, sent to the RTC, giving time out to reflect on their behaviour.

The room provides a place for students to reflect on problematic behaviour and develop a plan to move forward in a positive way, and for classroom re-entry when applicable.

The process assists a student to reflect on their behaviour, search within and make choices about their behaviour to reach their learning goals without disrupting others.

When students are removed from class to the RTC, parents will receive a notification through Parent Lounge.
