Foundation (Prep)

Hi everyone,
We have certainly been busy in Prep C this week and would like to share some of our work.
Literacy
One of the questions raised during Inquiry was, How does our body move? In our writing sessions, we read about bones and muscles and then had fun creating our own skeleton. The students wrote some information that they had learnt from our discussions and they are now hanging in the classroom if you would like to visit and have a look.
This week we learnt a new digraph (two letters which make one sound). We worked together to create a fantastic list of words in which they could hear the 'ng' sound.
'Ring on a finger - ng, ng, ng'
Numeracy
Our focus this week has been Friends of 10. These are two numbers which add together to make ten. The children have used what we call tens-frames to show two numbers that make ten and then by the end of the week, we were ready to have a go at recording our findings.
Inquiry
This week we also created a Wonder Wall with questions that the children would like to know about their bodies. Throughout the term we will read books together and discuss the questions that students have raised.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
