Child Safety

At Holy Family, we take Child Safety seriously.
Teachers are aware of and provide students with opportunities to learn about their safety. This includes:
- teaching children about their right to be protected and safe from physical and emotional harm,
- learning about and understanding the diverse cultural groups within our community
- providing an inclusive learning environment that caters for the divergent needs of students.
The standards were established in 2016 to protect children and young people from abuse and harm. They were updated in 2022. There are currently 11 Child Safety Standards that all schools must uphold. These can be viewed in the Plain Language Summary below.
We also have a Child Safety Display in our foyer (near student drop-off), where information is circulated regularly for adults and children to access the standards and any current learning the children have received in this area. (e.g. cultural diversity, racism, bullying, body safety etc.) Our front foyer can also reflect some of the child safety standards via the displays we present.
