Catholic Identity

In November We Remember

November the first, ‘All Saints Day’, is marked annually in our Catholic liturgical calendar as a day to celebrate and honour the good and holiness of our Church’s saints. We remember saints from around the world and throughout history. An opportune time to consider the example saints can offer us. To see ‘Church’ as Jesus wanted - in action in our world. This is the communion of saints. November the 2nd is recognised as ‘All Souls day’. Both days are of solemnity in our Church. We remember family and friends, who over time have passed. The word ‘hallow’ means holy, venerated, sacred and those saintly people, who have brought a blessed influence to our lives.

This Friday the 4th at 6.00 pm there is a Mass of Rememberance & Thanksgiving at our parish to pray for the faithfully departed. You are invited to join with light refreshments afterwards.
