It has been a big term for the Dromana College Cycling Program this term.
We Had a number or rides out of school along the roadside trails around Red Hill and also up onto the trails in the Arthurs Seat State Park. Students and Staff honed their climbing and descending by riding as a group amongst the beauty of the local bush. One week we even had a shuttle day where we took a trailer full of bikes behind the school bus up the hill for a fun filled day of descending.
We had 16 students compete in the Mountain Bike Gravity Enduro National Championships. It was a grueling course and all students performed brilliantly over the weekend. Special congratulations to Rye Carlyon (Yr. 10) who was crowned National Champion at the event for 2022.
Our annual end of year celebration ride saw us go up Harrisons road to the Ripe and Ready Cherry Farm. Upon arrival the group met Simon Easy the owner of the Cherry Farm. He took us on a tour of the farm where the students sampled some cherries picked straight from the trees. Thankyou Simon for allowing us to gorge on the delicious fruit and with a belly full of cherries we soaked up the atmosphere of the farm before descending back to school.
