Bless the many parted souls
who lived their lives with grace.
Bless the saints in heaven,
gathered in that special place.
May we tell their stories
and remember all the ways
they lived their faith
and spent their days.
There is glory and reward,
even if at first there’s strife.
Oh, blessed saints, you help us see
a path that’s to eternal life.
May we always hold them dear
and know their life and place.
May we know their inspiration
and aspire to their grace.

Catholic Mission & Socktober for World Mission Month Wrap Up
On Friday Week 3, we held our Crazy Sock Fundraising Day and sock-ball shoot-out using the sock-balls students made in class in earlier that week.
Our Mission Month donations have totaled over $1100 so far, which is extremely generous, and is within reaching distance of our $1500 target. Thank you to everyone who has, and continues to, contribute to this. Students have learnt that $1500 can afford to pay the wages of a farm caretaker for 6 months as well as buying a village 10 goats to start their breeding program. We will finalise this fundraising over the next fortnight so if you wish to make a final donation to our school’s Catholic Mission Socktober portal before it closes, please visit https://www.socktober.org.au/fundraisers/stxaviersprimaryschoolgunnedah and help make a difference to our neighbours in Ethiopia who experiencing hardship through malnutrition and poverty.

In the event we reach our fundraising target, any funds above $1500 will be donated to Gunnedah’s St Vincent de Paul Society to assist with their Christmas Appeal.
