Music Therapy

Earlier this year we were fortunate to receive funding support through the School Focused Youth Service.  This service is auspiced through the City of Boroondara to work with schools to support students in years 5 -12 to re-engage with education.  We have used the funds to employ an external music therapist to provide a weekly afternoon music therapy program.  All students have thoroughly enjoyed connecting with Priscilla and her incredible repertoire of music, movement and instruments.

Capital Works Update

Despite the incredible weather we experienced throughout October the capital works program continues to make steady progress.  The front administration block and rear resource room are nearing completion with external doors and windows being fitted and painting and the internal fit-out well underway.  We expect our school leadership and administration teams to make the move into this area within the next few weeks.  This then enables the construction company to make a head start on upgrading the front entry way to the school including a new internal ramp with a compliant gradient.

The new building is taking shape with framing complete and roofing well on the way. This has enabled the electricians and plumbers to commence preparing their foundation requirements.

Julie and I attend a capital works meeting each fortnight with all invested parties reporting on their progress and four week forward planning.  At the end of the meeting we are provided a tour of the site works and at our last meeting it was incredible to walk through actual spaces, including classrooms, bathrooms, library and sensory room which for so long had only been visuals on a plan.
