CAREERS INFO:

OPEN DAYS

 What are they?

Each year, tertiary institutions (Universities & TAFEs) open their doors to the public to showcase the amazing and unique features they have to offer including courses, scholarships, student services, facilities, accommodation etc. As well as this, open days have lots of activities including live bands, BBQs, competitions, information sessions, art displays and drama performances.

Some organisations offer assistance with travel costs for rural students. Check this out on their websites or see Mrs O’Bree for more information.

VICTORIAN TERTIARY ADMISSION CENTRE [VTAC]

What is VTAC?

The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) is the central office that administers the application processes for places in tertiary courses, scholarships and the Special Entry Access Scheme at universities, TAFEs and independent tertiary colleges in Victoria (and a few outside Victoria). VTAC receives and forwards application information and supporting documentation to the relevant authorities at institutions.

VTAC is not a selection authority, does not determine the selection criteria used by institutions and does not decide who will receive an offer. All decisions about which applicants are offered a place are made by the course selection authorities at institutions.

After selection decisions have been made by the course authorities at institutions, VTAC sends offer messages to successful applicants on the institutions’ behalf.

VTAC applications and registration is now open for students in Year 12 to register.

For more information go to their website at www.vtac.edu.au

CourseSearch

CourseSearch provides up-to-date detailed course information for all courses with applications through VTAC and some courses with applications direct to the institution.

Year 10 and 11 students. CourseSearch will help students to plan a future VCE program It will also allow them to identify which VCE studies they will need to be eligible for any potential courses they have in mind.

Year 12 students can also use the prerequisite search to add their current VCE program and prospective ATAR range to view the range of courses available for including on their 2018 course application.

Information about other forms of selection criteria are outlined in course entries listed on CourseSearch. For an explanation, see Course selection criteria.

Students should now be researching and investigating options for 2019 and beyond.  For more information go to their website at www.vtac.edu.au

We will be holding information sessions for students at the College to assist them in their understanding of VTAC and using CourseSearch. Time and date to be confirmed Monday 13 August 2018.
