WWHS' Digital Transformation

WWHS' Digital Transformation Update

Over the course of the year we will keep you informed about our digital transformation journey. This is what has occurred so far;

  • School leaders at Wee Waa High School were consulted to plan the support that was needed to take the school through its digital transformation over the coming months. The priority focus is the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning for students in the classroom, with a consistent approach to technology.
  • Support and advice were provided to the Principal to create a specialised Instructional Leader position in the school. This person will be focused on the ongoing leadership of the staff at Wee Waa to ensure that every student is achieving the best outcomes possible in classes, and that staff are supported to do this with technology.
  • Microsoft has committed resources to aid in Wee Waa’s digital transformation journey, providing key resources, training, and expertise in the use of Microsoft Teams and One Note for high quality classroom practice
  • Intensive, personalised support has been planned and delivered to the school, starting with the classroom. Teachers received elbow-to-elbow training over several days that provided tailored support to uplift teaching and learning across all subject areas. Support is ongoing, with a mix of face-to-face sessions, as well as online check-ins and support to enable teachers to prepare quality subject matter using digital tools
  • Wee Waa High received on loan from Microsoft 30 Surface devices to help teachers make a seamless transition to using digital tools for teaching and learning. As part of this process, teachers will be trained in the use of these tools to best deliver student outcomes in their subject areas, with quality teaching the priority focus.
