Curriculum

Selamat siang families! We hope that everyone is adjusting to remote learning and enjoying the check ins on Google Meet and have enjoyed some sunshine where you can. 

Last week students were provided with a choice board of activities on Seesaw and attended daily check ins with their class. It was great to see so many smiling faces on Google Meet! We noticed lots of students using their perseverance and independence to have a go at turning their microphones on and off and putting their hands up when sharing ideas. We miss seeing you at school, but we are grateful we can catch up in our online meetings. On Friday it was great to see lots of responses to the Home Maths Kit and DIY Reading Corner activities. We hope students enjoy reading and listening to stories in their new cosy reading corners. 

With the announcement that lockdown has been extended we have made some changes to Remote Learning for this week. We went through a detailed rundown of this in our class check ins on Friday. Each day students will attend their whole class Google Meet at 10am every day except Wednesday. Each day (except Wednesday) students will be assigned one set task from classroom teachers and a choice board with Guided Inquiry, Science and Wellbeing activities. The choice board will be the same for the whole week and students can complete one activity per day. Please use the 'add response' button on each task to upload a picture of their work. If students are looking for extra activities, please compete Reading Eggs or Mathletics tasks. 

Students will also participate in small group literacy and small group maths sessions once a week. Please check Seesaw to find the time for your child's small group sessions. Our maths session will follow check in each day and literacy small groups are at 11:30am. You can log into these with your class google meet code. 

Wednesday will be specialist day for Foundation, so students will be assigned tasks from specialist teachers (Art, PE, Indonesian, Performing Arts). There will also be a video check in uploaded to Seesaw from class teachers at 10am.

• Please check Seesaw regularly for updates and daily learning tasks
• Class check in each day at 10am on Google Meet.
• Set tasks and Choice Board can be completed at any time throughout the day, the times are just a suggestion of how we might structure the day if we were at school. However please complete these as it suits your family.
