Selamat siang!

What are you grateful for today? The 3/4 teachers are definitely grateful for technology during this lockdown. We are thankful that we get to have Zoom check ins with our classes and still get to stay in touch with each other. Thank you to all parents for your support of your child's learning over the last week. We couldn’t do Remote Learning without you!

Last week, 3/4 students attended daily check in Zoom meetings with their class at 9am. Across the week, students chose and researched a native Australian animal that they will be writing an information report about this week. They were given a Learning at Home Choice Board with a range of different optional activities, including skip counting while doing star jumps and writing acrostic poems while practicing cursive handwriting. All the teachers enjoyed seeing what the students were up to through their Seesaw posts.

With the extension of the lockdown, we have made a few changes to our Remote Learning this week. The students will all still participate in a whole class Zoom at 9am to check in and go over the daily task. Each day, students will be given a set of Google Slides that will be shared with them on Google Classroom. These slides will have instructions for one task that we expect students to complete. This task needs to be uploaded to Seesaw and the teachers will give feedback on this task. For the rest of the day, students can complete a range of different activities of their choice using the updated Choice Board, Reading Eggspress or Mathletics.

During the week, we will also be starting Small Group Zoom meetings - LiteracyLive and MiniMaths Zooms. Your child will have the opportunity to participate in 2 Small Group Zooms throughout the week. The LiteracyLive Zooms will occur straight after the morning check in, so students participating in that small group will remain on the whole class Zoom with their group while the other students leave the meeting. The MiniMaths Zooms will begin at 10:00. See below for an approximate timetable for these Zoom meetings. If needed, Friday will be the 3/4 Specialist day. Students will just have a whole class Zoom check in, and then will have a range of Specialist activities that they can complete.
