Student Services : Careers

Work experience success

Well done to all the Year 10 students who completed their work experience week (live or virtual) last week.  The teachers who checked in with employers/students/parents reported overwhelmingly positive responses.  There were numerous challenges faced in finding live placements due to the implications of covid restricting many businesses and work types.  Students were determined and resilient in making many attempts to find placements, and those students who were unable to find a live placement have generally embraced the virtual program and have produced some really insightful reports about their investigations.  Thanks to all the parents, teachers and administration staff who assisted our year 10s to make the week successful.

Planning ahead : NHS course selection

As we head into the second half of term 2 students should start thinking and planning for their course and subject selection for 2022.  Year 11s will be starting this process this week through their Connect sessions.  A reminder that there is a plethora of information on the careers page of myNorthcoteHigh, including how to make an appointment for a chat if you need to.
