Swimming Carnival results

On Friday 4th March, we held our NHS Swimming Carnival at Northcote Aquatic Centre. With the temperature hitting around 38 degrees, students and staff did their best to keep out of the heat and continued supporting their house teams.  Along with the main pool events, once again the Novelty events proved to be popular, giving students the chance to cool down whilst having some fun.  This year students also had the opportunity to participate in a Futsal and Beach Volleyball competition, both of which were a great success in getting more students involved in the Carnival.

Congratulation to the students below as well as those securing places at regionals.

Term 1 Sport update

Term 1 has been very successful for our sports teams at Northcote High. Students have shown outstanding levels of commitment and sportsmanship throughout. We have achieved many victories and therefore secured places at regionals. Congratulations to the following teams; Intermediate girls and boys tennis; Intermediate girls and boys volleyball; Year 8 girls and boys tennis and volleyball; Years 7 and 8 boys cricket; Year 7 girls cricket and Year 7 boys baseball. Congratulations also to those that were successful in securing a place in the regional swimming championships being held on Tuesday 22nd March. We wish you all the best in the next round!

Yr 7 PE

Year 7 students have had a positive start to PE at Northcote High School. The focus for this term has been the Minor Games unit where students have been working in groups to devise and teach a modified game to the rest of the class. Students have come up with some fun and original games whilst developing their team work and leadership skills.

Most classes have now moved on to the Athletics unit where they are preparing for the athletics carnival early next term.
