Happy birthday from China
(Translation) As NHS’ old friend of nearly 20 years, we are thrilled to learn that 2016 marks NHS’ 90th birthday. On this very special occasion please allow me, to be on behalf of Huaibei No.1 High School community of seven thousand student and staff, to express our most sincere congratulation and well-wish!
Time passes fast and records its successful steps. From 1999 to 2016, from Melbourne, Australia to Huaibei, China, we have created a legend story in of international education exchange and great friendship. During these 17 years more than six hundreds students and staff have participated our two schools' exchange program, shared laughter and built everlasting friendship. In 2008 during Huaibei No.1 High School’ 50thbirthday celebration Assistant Priincipal Nick Murphy and Ms Lixia Wang came to Huaibei and brought warm wishes from NHS community. 2012 NHS received high recognition from Victoria's Department of Education for your leadership in “Sister School Program” and we were honoured to be able to share the joy with you through Skype and gave our congratulations. In the unforgettable 17 years we have achieved so much in sharing and exchanging educational ideas and supportive each other's initiatives. We have broadened our visions and strengthened our mutual friendship.
Today international education reaches its new era. We educate our students for them to have international vision, support them to grow skills so that they are able to create new future. We firmly believe the new VCE program will create another milestone for the two school’ cooperation.
At this right moment I can’t help to think of the “friendship tree” we planted together at NHS school yard, which represents our friendship. Now the tree must grow taller and strong. Let’s care for and bring up this “friendship tree” with our hearts, may our two schools’ cooperation and friendship go from strength to strength.
Happy 90th Birthday NHS and we wish you a successful future!
From Principal Ma Ying, Huaibei No.1 High School
