Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

The Mothers Day morning tea was a very special gathering last Friday.  140 people filled the hall to celebrate our mothers and all special people in our community. Whether this was mum, grandma, aunties or carers the morning highlighted the importance of building a loving, nurturing environment for all ensuring a sense of being loved, worthy and belonging.

Human resources are the most important resources in our lives. People make a difference to each other. Being immersed in families and communities who care ensures everyone can grow, thrive and flourish.

A special thanks also to Mary Cameron former pastoral associate of Padua College who spoke about the importance of motherhood and being of service to others. Mary highlighted the importance of the people in our lives through her personal experiences and also through her many years of providing support to families and the community. A special mention to Mr Anthony Banks, Principal of Padua College and Mr Rob Knight and Mr Peter Kerr heads of Padua Tyabb who came and supported our community on the day.

A special thanks to Lindsey who spoke at our Mothers Day morning tea about the importance of self-care and prevention. Lindsey has set up the #checkyourselfontuesday campaign encouraging both woman and men to do a breast check each week for early diagnosis of breast cancer.

We thank Matt, Kerry and Anne- Marie for their leadership with the morning tea and the Mothers Day stall. Special thanks to the 1/2 parents who assisted with the stall and Mel Lyngcoln who organised the monster raffle.

Parking and road traffic management

The School Board met last week and spoke about the importance of road safety for our students. We need to take action and try to come up with some more improved safety conditions in regards to our traffic management particularly on Martin St.  We will be engaging with the Shire to promote action  and will keep you informed as to the progress and steps required.

In the meantime please have the highest of standards for your self and others by driving slowly, being aware of where you park and above all watching diligently for where our precious children are.

We congratulate Bodhi White on receiving the Sacrament of Baptism last Sunday and our thoughts and prayers are with the Wilson family on the recent loss of their much loved mum and grandma.

Finally, please remember our focus on building Resilience this term by using our school's social emotional strategies and Positive Education framework.
