From the Head of Junior School

Dear Members of the St Gregory’s Family,

What a big week we have had this week. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the smiles on the faces of the students and families at the Carols on Monday evening, the Celebration of Learning evening on Wednesday and the day to day business of the College at this time of the year.

Carols Evening

It was such a lovely evening on Monday to celebrate with you all as a community through song and even dance for some groups! The College family spirit was definitely present on the night. To have such a facility as the hall as our back up for this event was fantastic. There is not much we can do with the haze that we are currently facing but to be able to still host this event was a big plus for us all. To have each class share a carol with us on stage was wonderful to see. I want to thank all of the students for their passion in their delivery of these carols – great job! Thanks parents and family members for your attendance on the night, I really enjoyed the spirit in the room. The staff for pulling this all together and even performing one of the carols was a great deal of fun also! A special thanks to Mrs Limbrey, Mrs Tweedie and the Choir performers for once again sharing such special gifts with us throughout the evening and the students who led some of our carols in small groups or as a solo performance. A special thanks to Cooper Beltrami for his organisation of the IT requirements on the evening and Dylan Ruiters for hosting the night. Well done to everyone – what a success!

The Celebration of Learning

Another great year is almost coming to an end and it was a lovely occasion to celebrate the class, sport and co-curricular achievements of some of the students on Wednesday evening. I want to congratulate all the award winners from this week and to all students for your efforts and successes that you have all achieved this year! Like all events at St Gregory’s College, these events do not just happen, there is always a lot of behind the scenes work that takes place and I want to thank Mrs Romeo for her organisation of awards in conjunction with Mrs Limbrey, Mrs Ivancic and Miss Wheeler, out IT department for set upon the evening and also to the staff for their presence in making the transitions for the students work on the evening.

Year 6 Graduation Mass

I welcome all our community to join us at 9:30am on Monday to our Farewell Mass for our Year 6 students. We are looking forward to celebrating with this wonderful group of students their time not only at St Gregory’s over the past two years but to celebrate this time of their lives as they transition to High School. All members of this community are welcome on Monday for this special mass. We look forward also to celebrating with this group and their parents at the Year 6 Dinner on Monday evening.

I hope everyone enjoys the last week of the school year!

As our St Gregory’s College motto states, ‘what you sow, so shall you reap’.
