Principal's Message

Dear Parents, students and the wider community,

I trust everyone has had a largely positive week. I am sure I will not take for granted for a long time having the students here for a 'whole week''. I look forward to a time when we can in the not too distant future.

We are having another burst of enrolment activity currently for 2022 which is exciting. It is a real pleasure taking potential families for a walk and discussing all of the great things about our school.  There are so many comments about how peaceful our school seems and well mannered the students are. I thank you if you have let any family who is considering St Anne's for their Foundation age child or looking for a change for older children know to contact our office.

The highlight of the week for our Year 1/ 2 students was their excursion into the city.  They attended a venue called Dream City where they learnt a lot about various occupations as part of their Inquiry Learning. The students I spoke to were hugely excited about their day.

Next week our Year 4 & 5 students were to travel to Kilbreda to see the dress rehearsal of their musical "Matilda". Sadly for our students this has not eventuated. I am certainly saddened for the community at Kilbreda as these events in the school year are really looked forward to and are the result of a lot of effort.

Our senior students were to play against Belvedere PS today which has been cancelled. Next week we are set to play against Mahogany Rise PS. Like everyone else I am only hopeful this will proceed. Go St Anne's!!

Please continue to pray for our students and their families who are currently preparing for their First Holy Communion on  Sunday 15 August at 2.30pm if we come out of lockdown and regulations allow it. Please also include in your prayers the children of the Parish, and Parish schools who are to be confirmed, God willing, on Sunday 22 August. This weekend is the Feast Day of St Mary of the Cross- our very own Saint- Mary MacKillop. Some of the children might want to do a bit of a search about Mary and find out a few facts. She lead a very interesting life, particularly with her impact across South East Australia.

May God bless you and your family and may you enjoy some opportunities to relax as a family. We don't have a lot of choice at the moment!!
