Europe 2020 & 2022

As you are aware, details of the tour planned for April-May 2020 have been in newsletters for the past 10 months. However, in the last 2 months we have also had six people contact the school to withdraw from the tour due to significant personal reasons.

Therefore, it is with deep regret that McCarthy Catholic College, in conjunction with Academy Travel, has decided to cancel our planned 2020 Europe tour. This is not a decision that has been made lightly by the College and is the first time that McCarthy as had to cancel a tour since we began offering this experience in alternate years since 2010.

The College is aware that this will cause great disappointment as plans had been made and everyone had been looking forward to the tour. The participants have all been advised of the cancellation. Academy Travel has advised that they are very sorry that the tour is unable to go ahead but that they will provide a full refund to all passengers given the current circumstances.

Europe in 2022

It is the intention of the College and Academy Travel to work together and offer a similar tour to Europe in April-May 2022. If you are interested in finding out more, there will be an information evening in the second half of next year and you may like to start now putting money aside in a “Europe fund”.
