JUNIOR SCHOOL REPORT

YEAR 7 2015 INFORMATION/ OPEN NIGHT
Our School Hall was ‘packed to the rafters’ on the evening of Monday 5 May for our annual Open Night. Information about our school was presented to the 2015 prospective Year 7 students and their parents. This was followed by a tour of our classrooms where many exciting activities were on display, across all subjects and learning areas. Our staff and volunteer student helpers worked tirelessly with great commitment and enthusiasm in order to showcase our wonderful school. The night was a great success, with many favourable comments from the prospective parents. Sincere thanks to all the staff and students that worked above and beyond the call of duty in order to make the evening such a fine community event.
SCHOOL TOURS
Following our Open Night, we conducted tours of the school on the mornings of Wednesday 7 and Friday 9 May. The tours gave our prospective students and their parents an opportunity to see our school in action during a regular day. We hosted approximately 200 visitors on the Wednesday and 150 on Friday. Congratulations go to our Year 9 Form Captains, who acted as tour guides and escorted the visitors around the school. All of our Year 9 students were wonderful ambassadors and were most friendly, informative and polite.

YEAR 9 PARENTS –STUDY SKILLS EVENING
On Wednesday 14 May, we conducted our inaugural information session for Year 9 Parents –focusing on how parents can support their children with their home study and, in particular, with their revision for the coming Year 9 semester exams. Many practical tips were explained and feedback from parents was very positive. Many thanks to the over 180 parents that attended the evening and congratulations to Mr Ben Rood for designing and presenting the program and to our Year 9 Student Managers, Miss Kellie Dickson and Mr Jason Reynolds for their on-going efforts in supporting our Year 9 students in their study skills.
