Emerging Sciences

Emerging Sciences – Science Extension Program Experience

This semester I have been participating in a program called Emerging Sciences. Emerging Sciences is a program that teaches the aspects of science that are growing, such as; Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Nanotechnology and Astrophysics. I have found this program to be a good way of extending my understanding of science.

The program is run by the John Monash Science School and consists of 2 online classes a week with other students around the state. The subject I have been studying is called Bioinformatics, it concerns DNA extraction and identification. I have had an engaging experience with this class and hope to do medical physics next semester.
