Selamat siang!

Well done on another great week of Remote Learning! The 3/4 teachers continue to be blown away with the persistence of the students each week. Not long to go now!

Last week in Maths, we continued to practise our understanding of vertical addition and subtraction. The students had the opportunity to create and solve their own equations. We introduced the challenge of having internal zeros in our subtraction equations and the students used their knowledge of regrouping to find solutions. A portfolio task showcasing their ability to solve a subtraction problem with an answer, but no equation was uploaded to Seesaw on Friday - keep an eye out for your child’s work!

In Literacy last week, students read an article on zebras and determined if the statements regarding the article were fact or opinion. Some students even had a go coming up with their own facts and opinions of zebras. Later in the week we began brainstorming possible writing topics of interest and investigated the text features found in non-fiction texts. This understanding will come in handy when students begin writing their own information reports in the coming week.

In acknowledgement of Reconciliation week last week, students participated in an activity recognising the importance of Sorry Day on Tuesday 26th of May. It was lovely to see students make meaningful, respectful reflections and think carefully about the importance of this day.

The 3/4 teachers are extremely excited to have the students back to school next week. We look forward to having a successful final week of Remote Learning.

Terima kasih and have a wonderful week!
