Principal's Message

Welcome Foundation and Year 1 and 2 students.

Selamat datang, welcome

Terima Kasih Everyone (Thank you)

Thank you to all our families for their patience and support at our drop off and pick up areas. It has been lovely to have our Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 students back at school to resume face to face teaching and learning.

It has been very impressive to see the settled way all students have returned to school

This is the last week of Remote Learning for Years 3-6 and we look forward to welcoming them back after the long weekend on Tuesday 9th June.

New Entry and Exits for Tuesday 9th June

Kinder through the hall door from Mt Pleasant Road.

Prep will continue to enter and exit through Reception foyer and line up with their class.

ALL Year 1/2 students will now enter through Staff Car Park 1 and line up with their class.

Years 3/4 will enter and exit through the gate near the Senior Playground and go directly to their classroom

Year 5/6 enter and exit via the oval gate off Eugenia Street and go directly to their classroom.

If students are late arriving after 9.00am they must enter through Reception to sign in. It is important that students do not arrive before 8.45 to minimise waiting time.

Social Distancing still need to be maintained by parents when waiting at the various entry and exit points. Students are not permitted to play in the playground before and after school.

Curriculum Day Friday

This Friday June 5th is our scheduled  Curriculum Day which is a Pupil Free Day and there will not be any Remote Learning provision also. Staff will be working remotely on Report Writing, assessment and online professional development around the Respectful Relationships initiative.

Uber Assembly

Last week I visited each of the classes to present Pupil of the Week and Specialist  awards. Prep students taught me an alternative to the handshake as the elbow knock and in 1/2 we had the toe touch and even air high fives. Teachers took photos of students receiving their awards to share with families.

Miss Chooi's Travels

Miss Chooi in Iceland
Miss Chooi in Iceland

Miss Chooi has given us an update on her travels. Katrina took leave to travel and teach in the UK for 2020. She is teaching a Year 3 class in London and although she hasn't met any of her students or colleagues face to face yet she is enjoying the teaching experience. Unfortunately, she has not been able to do as much travel as she would have liked, but did get to Iceland before arriving in London. Katrina hopes to do a little more travelling in England when restrictions ease.

Expression of interest for Senior Swimming (Years 3-6)

The Victorian Curriculum requires schools to deliver swimming and water safety education as part of the Physical Health and Education Curriculum.

Our swimming program for students in Years 3-6 was rescheduled due to the Covid 19 restrictions. At this stage the Senior Swimming Program at Aqualink Ringwood is tentatively booked for 27th July - 6th August. The approximate cost of the 9 day program is $125 (payment plans can be established if required)

We need a majority of students to attend the program in order for it to be feesable. If we do not have the numbers to attend the swim program at Aqualink Ringwood then water safety education lessons will be conducted at school (dry program).

The Department of Education contracted Life Saving Victoria LSV, and their parent organisation Royal Life Saving Society Australia and they developed ‘dry’ swimming programs. These are intended to assist in keeping students tracking well with the theoretical aspects of water safety.

Please indicate on this survey below whether you would be interested in continuing with the Senior Swim Program at Aqualink Ringwood on the 27th July - 6th August.

Please note the program can not be rescheduled to later in the year.
