Sandhurst Student Leadership Day

Last Thursday 3 March, six of our outstanding Year 11 Leaders, attended the Catholic Education Sandhurst Student Leadership Day in Shepparton.
Organised by our College Leader, Tim Campbell and Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd Secondary Education Consultant Leonie Irwin, the day was designed to allow student leaders from across the Sandhurst Diocese to meet, network, listen and interact with guest speakers to learn more about leadership and in particular, ethical and servant leadership.
The students were welcomed on to country by Troy Firebrace in a smoking ceremony. Troy was supported by Michael Chisholm (Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Education Leaders – CESL) in delivering an address about the importance and significance of a Welcome to Country.
Other guest speakers on the day included the Director of Catholic Education Sandhurst LTD Paul Desmond, Maria Ford (CESL), and Kate Wilde (The Human Development Workshop).
The day was extremely positive and all students commented on the valuable skills they learnt and increased knowledge they walked away with.
Well done to Oliver Poole, Ruby Oman, Jett McMaster, Phoebe Clarke, Jackson Gronow and Mara Looney for your participation and leadership shown on the day.
