Library News

The library has acknowledged several significant dates on the calendar by highlighting books with similar themes including International Women's Day and World Wildlife Day.
If students are interested and want to further their knowledge on the topic, they are welcome to borrow from the displays.
Reading Room and reading for pleasure continues, with avid readers able to change books as often as they like. The library is open before classes begin, during break times, and after school so we are here to help with any “I’ve got nothing to read” crises.
New cricket-themed books
For the cricket fans amongst us, we have a new copy of Hat Trick by the duo Brett Lee and Michael Panckridge. Catch the first three Toby Jones adventures in a convenient omnibus edition. A huge book for cricket fans, Hat Trick combines tons of info about the game with three out-of-this-world Toby Jones cricketing adventure stories. Toby Jones is not your average schoolboy cricketer. He and his friends live for cricket, but Toby's ability to travel through time makes him unique. Using a copy of Wisden, the 'bible' for cricket enthusiasts, Toby drops in on the great cricket matches of the past, first in India and then in the West Indies. But at the 1930 test at Leeds where Don Bradman bats his legendary 334, Toby gets unexpectedly involved in the match. Packed with tips from Brett Lee, one of Australia's fastest-ever bowlers, Hat Trick offers hours of top reading ... and the inside edge on Australia's most loved sport. Hat Trick includes Toby Jones and the Magic Cricket Almanack; Toby Jones and the Secret of the Missing Scorecard; Toby Jones and the Mystery of the time-travel tour.” (Description from Booktopia)
The library has also purchased 3 books from the Glory Gardens series by Bob Cattell.
“Hooker, Azzie, Erica and the rest all play cricket in their spare time, but they've never taken it very seriously until now. Kiddo, one of their schoolteachers, suggests they form an official team and play proper matches - and Glory Gardens C.C. is formed. Hooker, as captain, soon finds out that cricket teams weren't built in a day: some players squabble, some can't catch, and some have tantrums and go home at half-time! So will Glory Gardens go all out for victory . . . or will they be out for a duck?” (From Book Depository). If you enjoy the first book, follow the team with Books 2 and 3.
Happy reading!
