SUSTAINABILITY NEWS

Gardening Fun!

Hi everyone! Gardening Club reaped some rewards of our work last week with our calendula flower seeds already beginning to sprout.  We were very pleased to see our silver beet, chives and parsley were all doing well and haven’t been eaten by the hungry possums! We learned about planting seeds today - we measured the rows out to different depths and widths apart and planted seeds for radishes, lettuce and beetroot. We are looking forward to seeing how long the seeds will take to grow!

Nude Food Day every Thursday

And the winner for Week 3 is … 3/4TR!

Well done to all students who participated in Nude Food Day this week. Year 3/4TR had the most participants with 17 rubbish free lunches.

Some yummy ideas - a sandwich/wrap/roll, pasta with vegetables, soup, frittata or sushi, a fruit or vegetable snack, such as whole fruit, cut up veggie sticks, fruit or savoury kebab or a small salad.

There is a great booklet of ideas here
