Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

Next week the newest members of our school community will begin full time learning here at Trinity. Our 2022 Preps have had a great start and are now ready for a five day week. Thank you to all prep parents who have been bringing in their children for some one on one assessment on Wednesdays in February. These opportunities have enabled our Prep teachers to gather some great information so that we can really target each child's learning in both Literacy and Maths. It has also helped teachers get to know their children even more closely.

All other teachers in Years 1 to 6 have also been working hard to get to know their children and setting up their classrooms to ensure a wonderful term for all.

Communication

I am aware there have been quite a few emails going home in these first few weeks, however, it is important that we maintain our lines of communication between school and home and often email can be one of the best ways to ensure everyone is being kept up to date with what's happening at Trinity. Please do not hesitate to email Julie or myself if you need any clarification in regard to information sent home.

Parent Helper Workshops

Thank you to those parents who have already expressed interest in helping out in classrooms this term. Ms Marinelli will be running the first of our Parent Helper Workshops on Monday 7th March at 9am after drop off.  This first meeting will be held onsite in our Mezzanine Room as it will be a small group. Please make your way to the office and we will go to the Mezzanine from there.  Ms Marinelli has also kindly offered the option of an evening online session to cater for any parents who are unable to attend during the day and would prefer to meet online.  To gauge interest in an online workshop could you please complete the GOOGLE Form HERE

School Improvement

Our school leadership team have been working hard these past few weeks to refine our school Annual Action Plan which will guide us throughout the year to achieve the goals we set for ourselves in the areas of, Learning and Teaching, Education in Faith, Leadership and Management, Student Wellbeing and School Community. I will continue to update families and seek your input into our school improvement plans, as your voice is essential in all we do.

Prayer : THE SEASON OF LENT

Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ, king of endless glory!

If today you hear his voice,

Lent is a period of preparation in the Church’s Liturgical Year that orients the community towards Holy Week and the Season of Easter. It is a time of prayer, fasting and good works.

The season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday and concludes on Holy Thursday Evening (the Vigil of Good Friday).

Colour: Purple

Duration: 6 weeks

Start: Ash Wednesday

Finish: Holy Thursday (prior to Mass of the Lord's Supper)

Next week at Trinity, Ash Wednesday Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 2nd March.

Please join the staff and students of Trinity in St James Church at 10 am to begin the Season of Lent.   Everyone is welcome.

Monday Morning Gathering

It is great to see the growing number of parents staying to enjoy our Monday Morning Gathering, to hear what's on for the week and to share in important announcements and awards.  It is a great way to start the week and an opportunity for us to sing the national anthem together and acknowledge our country. We have ordered some new flags which we will proudly display on our flagpoles once they have arrived.

Friday Assembly

Tomorrow may be our last online assembly, before returning to the Multi Purpose Room, however, we are still waiting on advice in this regard. For those of you who are able to join us online tomorrow from 2:45 here is the

Staffing Update

On behalf of all of us I would like to congratulate Mr Liam Gooding who has recently accepted a full time music teaching position at Mill Park Secondary College.  Unfortunately, however, this means that he will be leaving us at Trinity to pursue this new opportunity. Liam has been a great part of the teaching staff and has thoroughly enjoyed and valued his time here.

Fortunately we have been able to employ Ms Sandra Stanton who is an experienced teacher with a strong Performing Arts background and will commence here on Friday. Sandra will continue to incorporate aspects of the primary music curriculum but will add a performing arts focus to our program. I believe this will be an exciting addition to what we are already able to offer our children. I am sure you will all join me in welcoming Sandra to our school community.

School Uniform

As you will no doubt have noticed, our new preps and quite a number of children from across the school are now wearing our new school uniform.  I will, however, take this opportunity to remind parents that items deemed sports uniform should only be worn on the days your child has sport when they are also permitted to wear runners.  I have included below the Sports Uniform items for your clarification.

The following items should be worn on all days other than sports days.
