Grade 1/2

What has 1O been up to?

Maths:

We have been learning about place value in Maths. Students have been reading, writing, making, expanding and ordering 2 digit numbers. Last week we played a new game called "Stepping Stones". Students had to begin by rolling two dice to create a 2 digit number. They placed the number in one of the stepping stones. Students had to make sure their numbers were ordered correctly from 10-100. If they couldn't place a number in order they missed a turn. The first one to fill the stepping stones in the correct order won!

We have also been learning about the 4 seasons! Here are some of our fantastic colourful season wheels.

Retelling Stories:

We have been learning how to retell a story in sequential order and in our own words (beginning, middle and end). Here are some of our graphic organisers and Roll and Retell activities.

Special Events

Last week with our buddies we made some colourful flowers for the Warrandyte Parade and Festival. We learned how to work together to trace the shape, cut and decorate.

Willow and Eva were very brave last week and sang the Australian National Anthem at assembly! Well done girls!

Basketball Clinic!

We were so lucky to have a basketball clinic last Thursday. We played some games and were taught some ball drills. We had lots of fun and are looking forward to the next one.

Harmony Day

On Monday we learned about Harmony day. We created a wonderful display of people to represent our cultures and celebrate diversity.
