Mabo House Updates
Hi Everyone,
Another fantastic few weeks in Mabo House. Some of our student leaders represented the college at the Youth Leadership Conference at the exhibition centre, we all had our college photos taken and had a student led Mentoring session run by our fantastic House Leaders. I would like to acknowledge the following students for their planning, organisation, and delivery of our whole school Mentor House Pride session last week:
- Zinab Mahajer & Michelle Balog (Hollows)
- Clyde Peralta & Mia Samaranayake (Walton)
- Pevid Chheng and Ujuilu Cham (Freeman)
And last but not least…our Mabo leaders
Mustafa Jabbar and Rozanna Illias (Mabo).
Swimming Sports is coming up on the 18th of March at the Pines Frankston Aquatic Centre. There is a canteen available however it is recommended students bring snacks and a water bottle. We have lots of events running in and outside the pool such as:Competitive Events
- Freestyle
- Backstroke
- Relays
- Breaststroke
- Butterfly
If your student is a little hesitant in the competitive water events there is plenty to be involved in to earn points for your house through our novelty events in and outside of the pool:
- Noodle and Mat races
- Water walking relays
- Water based Tunnel Ball relays
- Water slide races
- Giant board games
- Mindfulness station colouring
- Chess competition
- 3 v 3 Basketball championship
We strongly encourage you to dress up in your House colours and join in the fun on land and in the water!
A reminder to all students and families the importance of wearing our uniform with pride. PSW is our local store to get you looking sharp in our uniform and is located at 1/9-11 South Link, Dandenong South VIC 3175. If you require assistance in purchasing the uniform, please get in touch with Mabo House so we can support you.
Mabo continues to be a leader of values nominations here at HP. We congratulate all students who have received a values nomination and are displaying our college values in and outside the classroom. Mabo House is so proud of your efforts and look forward to seeing you keep up the hard work throughout the term.
A message from Val our House Admin Assistant:
Please ensure you ring the school on 9795 9444 if your child is going to be away. Absence letters need to be signed and handed back to Val in the Mabo Office. If you are in VCE or VCAL and miss a SAC or Outcome, it is essential you provide a Doctors Certificate to meet the 90% attendance policy.
