Curriculum Day

On Friday 11th March we had a Curriculum Day for students during which our staff participated in various Professional Learning and Development seminars and activities.
For our teaching staff, this involved deepening their understanding of school-wide strategies to strengthen collective responsibility and improve student learning and wellbeing.
This presentation included:
- Contributing to the completion of curriculum documents to guide planning of teaching and learning
- Understanding our agreed pedagogical model and will harness explicit teaching in future planning for learning
- Understanding learning dispositions and will use this to plan activities in my classes
- Understanding the importance of School-Wide Positive Behaviours (SWPBS) for creating an orderly learning environment
Education Support Staff this included a presentation from Cate Schreck, designer of the ‘Just For Schools’ workplace training program. This presentation covered:
- Signs of a successful team
- Components of emotional intelligence
- Introduction to the DISC Theory of Human Behavioural Styles
- Practical ways to lower stress and get more done
At the end of the day, all staff came together for a presentation regarding the HSPC School-Wide Positive Behaviours, led by one of our Assistant Principals, Kelly Krieg.
