Around Our School

Food Tech

The kitchens have been off to a sizzling start this year, with our students really engaging with some of the exciting recipes they have been cooking.

Junior School classes have been working through an introduction to hygiene and safety in the kitchen and learning all about the different types of equipment used, producing banana berry muffins, mini quiches and pancakes!

Middle School food classes have been working through nutrition, the design process and the influences on food choice. They have produced poke bowls, cheesecakes, chicken & leek pies, Korean bibimap & rice paper rolls.

Year 11 VCE have been learning about hunter gatherers and the development of early food cultures, cooking tiramisu, ancient apple crumble & samosas.

Year 12 VCE have been learning the science behind the food we eat, and cooking cannelloni, lemon souffle crepes & chicken burgers.

We have been so impressed with the quality of cooking across all year levels! A reminder to students to keep remembering to bring your apron, container, tea towel and cutlery each week so you can participate

Netball at Frankston High School

An amazing turnout every Wednesday at 7.30am shows the enthusiasm of our Frankston High School players.  Now that the other schools have entered their teams, the Local League competition commenced last Friday at Jubilee Park. The first games begin at 4.15pm, but players arrive earlier to warm up; the schedule is distributed normally on Wednesday.  Frankston High School is represented by 14 teams from Years 7 to 12.

There was also tough competition for teams to play in the Casey Cup later in March, with over 80 players trying out for just over 30 places. T he standard is incredible - the team lists will be released this week.  As reward for our participation last year, Casey is sending a specialist coaching group out to work with our coaches and the junior and intermediate teams.  This session will be held at lunchtime on Wednesday 9 March in the Stadium.

Good luck to all players this week and throughout the season!
