Student Wellbeing
Once again we are attaching more resources from the Black Dog Institute. We hope you get the opportunity to read through them and that they may help clarify things around mental health support.
Â
At Frankston High School, the students have access to the Wellbeing Team. Team members are all fully qualified (Psychology, Social Work, Psychotherapy and Counselling) and are all guided by their relevant professional bodies.
Â
At times it becomes necessary to refer externally, if we feel that this may be beneficial. We refer to Early in Life Mental Health Services (ELMHS) or HeadSpace or to South Eastern Mental Primary Health Network (SEMPHN). OnPsych are also on board, and attend every second week to see students.
Â
Students are well supported by an Assistant Principal for each year level, plus 2 Coordinators for each year level, who liaise constantly with the wellbeing team.
Â
Students know that they can self refer at any time., and of course parents and guardians are also encouraged to do so.
