From the Principal
Dear Parents/Carers, Staff, Students And Friends
Visit From The Premier
On Wednesday 2 March, Frankston High School welcomed the Premier of Victoria, Mr Daniel Andrews MP, along with State Member for Frankston, Mr Paul Edbrooke MP. The Premier and our local member had the opportunity to see some of the great spaces at our school and discuss plans for the further modernisation of the 7-10 Campus in line with last year's $15.129 million commitment from the State Government. The Premier also met with our School Captains and members of the Chill Out Look About team, along with some of our Year 7 PE classes. We look forward to hosting the Premier and Mr Edbrooke in the near future as we continue to improve our wonderful school.
Modernisation Funding For The 7-10 Campus
We continue to meet with our architects (B2 Architecture), the Victorian School Building Authority, and DET – South Eastern Victoria Region regarding planning around funding for the modernisations of learning spaces on the 7-10 Campus. We are now in the Design and Development stage, having completed the schematic design. This stage involves a lot of planning and discussions around what the spaces will actually look and feel like. We look forward to keeping you closely updated as we progress and gaining your feedback on these future spaces.
Chill Out Look About
On Friday 4 February we had ‘A Current Affair’ visit to record some of our wonderful students involved in the Chill Out Look About team who continue to work tirelessly in the community to raise awareness about road safety. Thank you to Mrs Sarah Bahramis for her efforts organising this and making this h appen. It’s great to acknowledge the leadership of our students and also timely to reflect on the role we all play in road safety.
Professional Learning Communities
The Victorian Department of Education has been rolling out a range of initiatives to continue to build teacher capability and support students in reaching their full potential. One of these initiatives is ‘Professional Learning Communities’ (PLCs). At Frankston High School our staff have commenced their professional learning for the PLC initiative. Staff will be collaborating to use student learning evidence to identify growth areas in teaching (pedagogy) and trial high impact teaching and learning strategies to address this data. This professional learning has a focus on using evidence (data), collaboration, evidence-based teaching strategies and collective efficacy. We appreciate the collective efforts of the Pedagogy Team who are leading our staff through this professional learning. We look forward to sharing the PLC progress with our community
