Teaching and Learning

 Term 2

Hi Parents and Carers,

What a wonderful term we have had, even with the sicknesses taking over at times we’ve still managed to maintain student engagement in learning. Sections have been providing multiple opportunities for students to experience hands on learning, with incursions like the 7/8 smorgasbord exploring strategies for student wellbeing or the footy clinic in 9/10. Concord also had a visit from the Australian Boomerangs, which is the men’s basketball team for athletes with an intellectual disability.

Teachers have been busy the last couple of weeks completing the reporting process, reports will be shared via Compass in week one of next term. There will be an opportunity to discuss these and the Semester Two Individual Education Plans at our Variation to School Day on August 1st. Appointments with families and teachers will be half an hour in length, this mode of pupil free day allows students to participate where appropriate. We encourage you to invite your external therapist to join the meeting with the school so everyone can discuss collaborative strategies and supports.

The day will run from 10am – 6pm, therefore there will be no students at school on this day unless they are attending their meeting time with you. Further information will be available early next term.

As we have two student free days next term, we’ve arranged for TheirCare OSHC to provide care from 7am – 6pm if you require.

  • Monday July 17th: Whole School Curriculum Day
  • Tuesday August 1st: Variation to School Day - Student Support Group meetings (SSGs).

TheirCare OSHC will be available on each of these pupil free days from 7.00am - 6.00pm. Bookings can be made through the TheirCare OSHC website and will be open closer to the date.

We want to wish everyone a happy and healthy break!

Take care,
