Principal's Report

Term 2

As we enter the colder winter months and approach the mid-year holidays, I thank our students for their persistence and resilience. As communicated in an earlier newsletter, there have been frequent student and staff absences due to COVID19 and illness which have impacted upon the daily routines of schooling. To assist with communication, please remember when emailing your child’s teacher to ‘cc’ in the section leaders so they can reply to you if your child’s teacher is absent.

As you can see in the photo below, the slab of the new building has now been laid. In the coming weeks there will be an increased number of services entering the site which will further reduce the car parking on Gleeson Drive.

A reminder that, to alleviate car parking issues, a morning drop off option is available on the front driveway between 8.30-8.40am. The cut-off at 8.40am will be strict as the buses will enter from that time. There will be staff waiting to assist your child and provide supervision. The afternoon pick-up process continues to operate successfully between 3.10—3.20pm. We encourage you to take advantage of these options.

Please note the map below that shows the available car parking around the campus including time periods if applicable.

Performance from Sricharan Sriram

In our newsletter I enjoy highlighting the achievements of our students outside of school. If you have an achievement from your child that you would like to share, please email me the information at Jason.Coningsby@education.vic.gov.au

Last Saturday night at the Darebin Arts Centre a Year 11 student, Sricharan Sriram, performed a Carnatic vocal arangetram. This requires a high level of technical prowess as well as an emotional depth and a deep understanding of the tradition. Sricharan has trained for many years and displayed determination, confidence and skill. Congratulations to Sricharan.
