P&C School Disco and Tally Together Picnic
Friday night’s P&C Disco and Tally Together picnic was a sensational event that was fun for children and their families. There was a lovely community atmosphere as families spent time with each other in the Tally Together area while their children were at the disco.
Thanks to our P&C Executives, Lucy Pritchard, Fiona Luke, Corrine Campbell, James Hill and Deputy Principal, Stephen Gaggin, for coordinating this event! They worked extremely hard with an attention to detail that made the event run very smoothly.
We are also very grateful to our school community for supporting this event including:
Advance Notice - Book Character Costume Day
One of our annual highlights is our Book Character Costume Day. This year it is scheduled for Tuesday, 15 August. Children are encouraged to dress in costume as their favourite book character and are asked to bring the book with them on the day. I am looking forward to this special event that forms part of our celebration of reading within our Book Week.
Team Tally love this day of the year as we enjoy surprising our students with decorations and costumes!
NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC week is within the June/July holidays each year, so we allocate a week early Term 3 to mark this important event with our students. This year, we will recognise NAIDOC week throughout the third week of Term 3. Highlights during that week will include a performance for students (26 July) and the grand opening of our new learning space. Details of the grand opening of our garden that highlights Indigenous plants will be shared with families via ClassDojo.
Sports Days
Congratulations to our student competitors for showing the Tally Way during our sports days this week! We also enjoyed the community aspect of these events. We welcomed children from some local Early Learning Centres so they could enjoy being part of the Junior Sports Day. Children from Elanora State High School did an excellent job of helping and we were pleased to support their ongoing learning.
It was wonderful to have so many parents and carers attend and support our students.
Thank you to everyone who supported our annual P&C bake sale to raise money for the Year 6 graduation!
Rock Band
My husband and I had a very enjoyable morning last Saturday watching our rock band perform at a café in Currumbin with a great crowd. Matt Gordon does an excellent job leading this group and Tyler Smith and Scott Williamson, other Team Tally members help. Stephen Gaggin, Deputy Principal, made his Tallebudgera Rock Band debut, joined by his 2 year old son who rocked out on his guitar.
I was very proud of all the children who performed!
Thank you
Tallebudgera State School community, thank you very much for your support this term! I wish all families a safe and happy holiday period! Team Tally look forward to welcoming our students to Term 3 on Monday 10 July.
