AGM Board Nominations

AGM of Parents Association - POSTPONED
The AGM scheduled for this coming Monday, 18 July has been postponed as a gesture of respect and to allow those who knew Isabel Bell to attend her funeral.
Belgrave Heights Christian School is overseen by a Board of Directors consisting of 4 Parent Representatives and 6 members representing the Presbyterian Church of Victoria. This Board ensures the continuing direction of the school. The purpose of the meeting is to elect the four parent representatives required to sit on the Board. The biographies of parents nominated are as follows:-
Yolanda Cox
My name is Yolanda Cox. I am married to Ben and together we have three gorgeous daughters. Savanna is currently in Grade 5, Scarlett in Grade 3 and Dakota is in Grade 1.
I am a Division 1 nurse with a post graduate certificate in Intensive Care Nursing and currently work as the Intensive Care Clinical Educator at Knox Private Hospital.
I, together with my family, have been an active part of Hope in the Hills Christian Community in Tecoma for the past 10 years. I have previously served a 3 year term on the Leadership Council of our church in the capacity of a Congregation Representative.
I have served on the BHCS School Board for the past 3 years, and have enjoyed learning more about the inner workings of our school.
I enjoy the challenges that Leadership roles bring and enjoy the opportunity to meet new people and contribute to the overall workings of an organisation.
Stephen Dunn
Stephen Dunn has been a Parent Representative on the BHCS Board for 10 years. Stephen and his wife Natasha have two teenage children, Brianna in Year 11 and Ben who graduated in 2014. Ben is currently studying at Hillsong College in Sydney. Stephen and Natasha both fulfil leaderships roles at their local church, The Church@1330.
Stephen has an electrical trade background and 20 years of experience in the Vocational Education, Employment and Training Industry. Stephen has formal qualifications in Management and is completing a Master in Business at Deakin University.
Stephen’s passion is to see young people progress successfully through the education system at BHCS. He is humbled to be serving the local school, supporting the school leadership and witnessing God’s hand on the growth within the school.
Amanda Wight
My name is Amanda Wight, I am a university graduate with degrees in Commerce and Arts. I am a wife to Tim, and a mum to 4 gorgeous kids. Tim and I run our own Home Theatre and Automation business.
We currently attend Hills Church in Ferntree Gully where I volunteer as a Team Leader in our children’s church. Our children play Basketball with a local club and Tim and I both play basketball within the Baptist competition.
My family has been at this school for 11 years, and it has been a privilege and a delight to watch the school grow and develop over these years.
My reasons for serving on the School Board are:
- I love our school.
- I love that God is the centre. I love that for our Junior School, beginning the day with prayer before they reach their classrooms is their normal.
- I love that the staff go over and above what is required of them in order to see their students succeed.
- I love that there is a culture of positivity and there is a focus on how that can be grown.
- I love that our school has been created within a natural environment where students are able to explore and learn in a hands on manner and that our grounds are picturesque, tranquil and inspiring, breeding creativity and adventure, particularly for the younger students.
I would love the opportunity to continue serving my school, to help shape and mould its future. With a heart after God and children currently across Junior, Middle and Senior school, I think I am a representative across our school community. I would endeavour to be a parent voice within the Board.
So what do I bring to the Board? Passion, understanding, compassion, a deep love for God and the ability to represent parents.
