Wellbeing at CJC- Semester 1
It’s been another busy, eventful, and fun term in Wellbeing at CJC!!
Over this Semester we have been able to achieve so much and look forward to many more exciting learning opportunities for CJC students in Term 3.
A quick snapshot of what’s been happening in the Wellbeing department here at Caulfield Junior College
- The creation of our new wellbeing space in the SLC- opening this calm, supportive area for invited students at recess and lunchtimes has enabled an alternative setting to outdoor play.
- The launch of our school HEROS!! Our HERO values are now well and truly embedded into everyday school life at CJC.
- Two new members in the Wellbeing department- Tilly and Lisa. Both have a wealth of knowledge in all areas of Health and Wellbeing and are a huge asset to the team!
- Social skills and Peaceful Kids groups run weekly in the Wellbeing space.
- Introduction of the Sex Education program for our prep-year 4 students, which was run by SEA (Sex Education Australia). Running of the VERY successful parent information night. We were so happy with the support from parents and carers- thank you.
- Our SEL (Social and emotional learning) allocated times in all classrooms.
- Respectful Relationships program is taught in all classrooms.
- Welcoming of outside specialist providers to work onsite with students requiring speech and occupational therapists and psychologist intervention.
- Continual work and support from SSS (student support services) to ensure the right supports and adjustments are made for all students.
- Luna continues to work in classrooms and in the Wellbeing Space. She is a very good listening and is a great comfort and support to many 😊
