Parents Committee update

We made it! Half of the school year is behind us. We hope that everyone has a relaxing holidays…but there is no time to rest because in the 1st week back we will celebrate Bastille Day on Friday, 14 July.  Crepes, pains aux chocolat, Orangina and Carambars will be available for purchase.

Bastille Day Plans – Friday 14 July

PC plans to sell donated crepes on the day and create a festive atmosphere.  We need crepe donations from our families. Crepes freeze well, so why not make a few extra over the holidays.  A recipe with instructions has been prepared to assist. If you can pledge some crepes for the sale, please fill out the Bastille Day Crepe Pledge form.  Please see the flyer in the newsletter for more information.

Bastille Day Stalls: Do you have a business that would like to run a stall for our school community to enjoy on Bastille Day...think cheese, rillettes, other delicacies?  Please contact us at caulfieldjuniorpc@gmail.com if you are interested.

2023 September School Arts Festival: The School has an ambitious Arts festival planned for Friday 8, 2023 from 2.30 – 6.30.  CJC Families, the PC is looking to provide catering options for this event and others throughout the year. Do you or your family work in the industry or can help us provide a solution, or have you seen something at another event that you would like to see at CJC? Don’t be shy…we’re hungry to hear from you!

Band/Orchestra @ CJC:  Correction: We are looking for a band/orchestra leader? There is some interest for starting a school band/orchestra at CJC, but we are looking for a parent who would be interested in setting up a Choir at CJC.  WWCC is required.

Volunteering:  The Parent’s Committee will now use the Sign-Up online platform to manage and streamline volunteering at the school. All of the upcoming events where volunteers are required are now online and you can sign up to volunteer ahead of time.  In terms 3 and 4 we have a number of events planned where parent volunteers are needed:

  • Bastille Day: Friday, 14 July
  • Father’s Day Stall and Breakfast: Friday, 1 September
  • Arts Festival: 8 & 9 September
  • Stargazing Night: TBD (Science Week depending on the stars aligning)
  • Parent Bingo night (Date TBD)
  • Diwali:  Friday, 17 November
  • End of Year Party: Friday, 1 December from 3.30 – 6pm

We hope that this new platform and advance notice will assist families to better plan when they might be able to volunteer at school: https://signup.com/go/hdjNbBk
