Learning @ TPPS

Sports Update

TPPS have had a very successful year in Cross Country with 12 students going through to race in the division finals on Tuesday 6th June.

Ben A, Hunter B, Archer B, Fletcher C, Fraser C, Isabelle D, Nick D, Lucas F, Fletcher G, Tamara G, Daniel K and Angelique V all did an amazing job making it to the division finals. This is a huge achievement for these students as they are racing against the best students in the Manningham Division.   We are incredibly proud of their efforts!

I also wanted to congratulate both Nick D and Fraser C for placing within the top 10 of their races and racing in the Easter Metro Regional Finals on Tuesday!

Team Vic News

Congratulations to Macey in 6K for being selected for the Victorian Football Side. This is a huge achievement and something we are all very proud of at TPPS. Macey will be competing in NSW later this year.

Grade 6 Water Safety

Grade 6 students had a fantastic water safety week at Aquarena, working towards the Victorian Water Safety Certificate last week. This certificate, a Victorian Government initiative, emphasizes competencies such as water safety knowledge, rescue skills, a survival sequence, and swimming 50 metres continuously. Students completed activities such as surface dives, underwater swimming and object recovery, non-swimming rescues, beach and river scenarios, survival sequences, safe water entry and exit, sculling, floating, treading water with intermittent distress signals, slow survival strokes, and emergency response training (DRSAB and recovery position). The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, gaining crucial skills and fostering a culture of water safety.

Performing Arts Update

At Templestowe Park the Grade 5 and 6 students are involved in a musical every odd year. They are such an exciting process which enables students to challenge themselves and grow in confidence and pride.  In 2023, we will proudly present ‘The Wizard of Oz’ (Young Performers’ Edition) at the Forest Hill College Theatre - 178/180 Mahoneys Road, Burwood East 3151.

  • Cast A will perform on Tuesday 29th August and
  • Cast B on Wednesday 30th August 2023

Please note that students will perform on both evenings with Cast A and Cast B.

This year we will be having a matinee and evening performance on each day, thus giving students more opportunity to perform on stage and to an audience.

Auditions have taken place and the cast will be announced prior to the school holidays. We will look forward to commencing rehearsals at the start of Term 3!
