Parent-Teacher Mid-Year Meetings / Student Reports

Teachers are currently working on the semester one student reports to ensure they are ready for distribution to parents at the end of term. We hope that the Mid-Year report provides some insights for parents into their child’s growth this year.

Teachers will be holding our annual parent-teacher meetings in week 2 of next term. The meetings are an opportunity for parents to ask any questions about the Mid-Year School Report.

These 10-minute meetings will be scheduled for an afternoon and an evening, depending on teacher availability. If your child’s teacher is on leave, their meetings will be scheduled on their return.

More information about how to book these meetings will be sent home via Compass next week.

Sustainability / Love our Street

On Thursday 1 June I met with Moira, local resident and founder of Love My Street. Moira’s passion for creating a clean and sustainable environment was apparent and it was great to hear of her hopes of getting all schools in the area to take action to keep our streets and environment clean.

Moira shared with me an initiative ‘Take 3 for the Sea’. It would be great if all our school community could remember this and when out in the community we all picked up 3 pieces of rubbish a day, this would help ensure these 3 pieces of rubbish do not end up in our waterways. If all our students and teachers did this we would be picking up over 1250 pieces of rubbish a day, and if all our parents took part it would then be over 2000 pieces. This would make a significant impact!

Solway 1952-1980

One of our Solway families has a neighbour in her 90s and all her four children went to Solway. She shared this booklet with us and the school community. So interesting!
