Remote STEAM Challenge

The students of CSPS were challenged to create a tower as tall as possible and count (in Spanish) the number of objects they had in the tower. As always, Ms Natalia strives to make links to more formal literacy and numeracy learning. To hear and see the students counting and placing their numbers for Ms Natalia was a joy.

ART

Students were challenged to create a Suntangle or a Squiggle drawing, a process that draws on the creation of line and repeated patterns. This linked in for Junior school with their Mathematics of pattern understanding and creation. It also drew on one of our CSPS values which is Persistence.

Life Education Van - Foundation to Grade 6

Our school is once again lucky to have secured a visit from Life Education Victoria. They are a community-based, independent organisation empowering children and young people to make safer and healthier choices. They offer a wide range of modules that provide the information, understanding, skills and strategies required for children to make safe decisions about their own health and well-being.

All grades will be participating in this program early in term 3 with more information to be provided in the coming weeks.

Life Education - Talk About It Program for Grades 5 & 6

Life Education Victoria is partnering with our school to deliver their ‘Talk About It’ Program. It offers content and topics for grades 5 and 6 students that focuses on the social, emotional and physical changes associated with growing up and laying the foundation for healthy relationships now and in the future.

Grade 5 and 6 students will be participating in this curriculum aligned program later in term 3 with further information to be provided in the coming weeks.

Virtual Cross Country

Our very own ‘Virtual Cross Country’ began on Monday 18th May and runs until Friday 5th June. The response so far has been amazing! This is a great chance for students to keep active whilst representing their house. Make sure you jump onto the Physical Vibe - Virtual Cross Country google site. Here you can view the house captain videos, learn your house chant, laugh at the staff photos and also challenge yourself against the times set by staff. Remember you can only enter your results once. Don't forget to take videos and/or photos and upload to the assigned Seesaw task or email them to daniellec@cranbournesouth.vic.edu.au.

Remote Learning - Physical Vibe Style

It is safe to say I feel like I know more about the Cranbourne South children thanks to remote learning. It has provided me with a snapshot into your homes and more importantly your children's interests with regards to physical activity. It has been fantastic to see so many children riding bikes, jumping on trampolines and going on family walks. In what has been a challenging time for so many it is the little things like the daily family walk that our children will remember and cherish.

I have enjoyed seeing the many photos and videos that students have uploaded. Some of the highlights so far have been the weekly fitness challenges (I bet you can all now do more push ups than before the holidays), the creativity shown when making up their own target games, students horse-riding (very jealous) and hearing the parents (coaches) voices of encouragement, or sometimes laughter in the background!

Keep showing the Cranbourne South spirit and remember to be active for at least 30 minutes a day!
